Curiosity and Connection

Hello!

My name is Jamie (she/her). I am an Intern, completing a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in a social-justice-focused program at Antioch University. I work under the supervision of Ginger Hemming, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Registered Art Therapist, and Clinical Supervisor in Washington State.

Curious by nature and happiest when spending time outdoors, I bring warmth, openness, and genuine care to each session. I utilize a grounded, relational approach to counseling, rooted in deep empathy, presence, and curiosity. I believe in each person’s ability to change their story and can help you explore your relationship with yourself and others.

I recognize the systemic barriers and challenges that make life more difficult, and approach therapy as a collaborative process. My style is calm, affirming, and direct. I am skilled at reading the room, offering encouragement and care, but won't shy away from gently challenging you when it serves your growth. My work draws from:

  • Attachment Theory

  • Self-Compassion Practices

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

  • Mindfulness, creative, and somatic approaches.

Having the courage to open up to someone in this capacity is brave. I value your trust and am grateful to learn alongside you.

Offering in-person and virtual sessions in Vancouver, WA.

I work with adults and kids aged 7 & up.
